Abstract

No event in recent Church history has so strongly defined and changed the situation not only of the Catholic Church but of all Christianity as the Second Vatican Council. It inspired enthusiastic excitement, but also led to deep disappointments. Today, many questions arise: What remains of the Council? Does it still have a future? What is its lasting significance?
